I found a home I might buy that has an inground swimming pool. If I buy it I want the pool removed; don’t want the pool. Is it expensive? Also, can the home get damaged? Have any of you had to have this done and if so could you just give me an idea on the cost of this. They can give quotes on the internet, but I don’t want to have to go through all that. If you could just give me an idea? Would it be $20,000, $10,000, $5,000, $2,000? I don’t want to get over my head.

What would be the approximate cost to install an in-ground swimming pool in South Barrington, IL? Our home is in the process of being built so I can’t do any formal estimates yet but just wanted to get a ballpark figure. Our home will be on a half acre site but we don’t want a huge pool. Probably medium sized.
